QueerTheory Ideologie... PostcolonialTheory Ideologie... You name it!

[The screenshot shows a tweet from Zurich's Justice Director, @jacquelinefehr
(@spzuerich).
Ms. Fehr isn't just woke, she's superwoke. She's particularly drawn to the postmodern ideologies (aka wokeness) of the SocialJusticeWarriors. QueerTheory ideology... PostcolonialTheory ideology... You name it!
Since she decided a few years ago to push for state recognition of Islamic religious communities and met with people belonging to the political Islam spectrum for this purpose, she's been something of a nemesis of mine. I regularly call for her removal and make a fool of myself because of the hopelessness of my request. It doesn't bother me because I can't keep quiet!
The illustration in the tweet shows the woke-left utopia, a place where the government councilor's dreams have come true. A 'queer' man chats happily with a Franciscan monk. A gay PoC man smooches with a 'white' man at a table where they've met for a discussion. It's just as spontaneous as one would expect from real life when one meets at a round table for a political debate.
Also seen is a headscarfed Sharia Muslim woman, beaming happily with her young son, joining the friendly group. Whether she's one of those who recently voted for Erdogan, we'll never know. Why shouldn't she? Supporting an Islamist dictator in Turkey and attending such conferences in Europe isn't a contradiction in terms!
What might she have said to her husband at home when she asked him for permission to leave the house?
'Hey, Faruk! I'm just going to a round table hosted by Jacqueline Fehr, where an LGBTQI activist and influencer will be speaking. A queer priest is also there. You don't have to worry about me being harassed by men. Most of the people there aren't interested in sex with women. There's even a Franciscan monk there. I'm also wearing the hijab, which protects me from the greedy gazes of straight, old white men. Pleeeease! Can I go?'
'Sounds great, Fatma! But take little Mohammed with you, because I want to watch football. Who knows? Maybe our son will find his perfect gender identity at this meeting. Since he's been wearing princess dresses to play with recently, I'm assuming he's nonbinary. Maybe he'll find some inspiration at this meeting!'
I know that sounds batshit crazy. But doesn't that also apply to this illustration?
One might also wonder why woke leftists have an insatiable need to depict Muslim women wearing headscarves in illustrations like this.
Since I myself come from a predominantly Muslim country, and the clothing Jacqueline Fehr recommends for Muslim women is a political issue there, I have a very special relationship with the hijab. I have published several articles on it and also wrote about this very topic in the book "Freedom Is Not a Metaphor." I find Ms. Fehr's propaganda stereotypical and racist. She abuses her stereotypical image of the "Muslim woman," who must wear the headscarf as a matter of course, for her own political purposes, such as winning elections by portraying herself as a particularly "inclusive" politician. I--like many other people from predominantly Muslim countries who oppose political Islam--feel racially insulted when our women are stereotypically portrayed in this way. I have spoken with many women and men from predominantly Muslim countries (Turkey, Iran, North Africa) and asked them how they feel when they see such illustrations. Yesterday, a young man with Turkish roots told me that I'd found the right term for what I'd recently used: 'Left-wing racism.'
'I feel much closer in terms of values to a feminist Muslim woman from Istanbul than to a racist, misogynistic man from Toggenburg,' Jacqueline Fehr once said in an interview. She probably barely noticed that she's light years away from a feminist in Istanbul who doesn't define herself through her religion in terms of identity politics, and that she's probably unintentionally much closer to the racist man from Toggenburg than she'd like.]" #MetaphorWarfareSocialJusticeWarriorSJW #TheorySociologyCriticalQueer #IdentityLGBTQIAQueer #TheorySociologyCriticalPostcolonialism #BeliefTheismIslamism #NarrativeUtopiaWokeLiberal #IdentityIndigenousBlackPeopleOfColourBIPOC #SymbolHijabNiqabBurqa #BeliefTheismIslamismShariAhlamicLawShariAhLaw #IdentityMuslim #OrgClassifPPTRAdaletVeKalkinmaPartisiAKPRecepTayyipErdogan #ToponymEastMiddleTurkey #IdentityLGBTQIAGay #CauseActivismSocial #IRLScholarVojinSasaVukadinovic [Wikipedia] #2018_FreiheitIstKeineMetapherAntisemitismusMigrationRassismusReligionskritik #PhenomnMarketingInfluencer #BeliefTheismChristianityDenomCatholicismFranciscans [Wikipedia] #PhenomnGenderNonBinary #CharacterisationWeaknessBatshitCrazy #TauntLeftist #PolicyDiversityEquityAndInclusionDEI #ToponymEastMiddleIran #ToponymAfricaNorth_ #CatchcryRacismReverseLeft #CauseFeminism #ToponymEastMiddleTurkeyIstanbul #OtheringHateMisogyny #ToponymEuropeSwitzerlandToggenburg [Wikipedia] #CatchcryIdentityPolitics

Addendum while this presentation positions #BeliefTheismChristianityDenomCatholicism in opposition to #TauntWokeism, to a larger extend, its argument is actually an affirmation of the values of #PleaWokeAffirmation. Its central thesis is actually a criticism of #TheoryPostmodernGrandNarrativeMetanarrative.s [Wikipedia] - such as #PoliticsCommunism / #PoliticsFascismNazi / #PhenomnRevolution (where it bizarrely frames the movements in terms of the French Revolution's #SloganLibertyEqualityFraternity). The presentation seems to take umbrage with the fact that the same
metanarrative which is critical of communism and naziism also brings into question the value of #BeliefTheismChristianity (because, as the presenter makes clear, belief is also an overarching, grand theory/philosophy). #ReasoningFallacyFalseEquivalence

*Culture warriors denounce slave princess*
Born into a sultan's harem in #1844_, Princess Sayyidda Salme survived slavery, zealots and exile but appears to have fallen foul of political correctness. Princess Salme was the youngest daughter of 36 children of Said bin Sultan Al-Said, the sultan of Zanzibar and Oman. Her mother was a Circassian concubine, bought for the sultan at Zanzibar's slave market. In keeping with tradition, Salme was given her freedom at the age of 18. Shunned by relatives for backing the wrong brother in a power struggle after her father's death, she lived in Stone Town, the European quarter of the island, now part of Tanzania. She became pregnant to Rudolph Heinrich, a Hamburg trader, and returned with him to Germany, where she lived as Emily Ruete until she died in 1924. She challenged perceptions of East Africa and the Orient and worked to alleviate the suffering of children. A multilinguist, she wrote her autobiography, Memoirs of an Arabian Princess, which was published in 1886 and translated into French, Arabic and other languages. She is buried in Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg, where her grave is deemed of historic importance and a memorial to commemorate her was raised in 2007. Under pressure last year from the Greens and Social Democrats, the local municipality named a square after her. Barely was it agreed, however, when Hamburg Postcolonial, a movement dedicated to eradicating remnants of the city's colonial past, accused her of racist views, and favouring slavery and polygamy. The honour was rescinded by the politicians who proposed it. With a general election next month, these issues have gained prominence on the left. The princess was deemed not to have sufficiently condemned the slavery that brought great riches to Zanzibar and the Arabian peninsula. In her memoirs, she wrote: "The sole difference between an oriental woman's situation and a western woman seems to be that the first knows the number and character of her rivals, whereas the other is kept in charming ignorance." Spurred on by the Hamburger Abendblatt daily newspaper, citizens wrote letters demanding that the square be named to honour the princess. The Emily-Ruete-Platz signs remain but the vote to revoke the decision has not been reversed. Her square is difficult to find because since it is not official it no longer appears on navigation apps. Not for the first time, Princess Salme finds herself in limbo, caught between two cultures worlds apart. Her memory is valued, however, in the Princess Saline Museum in Zanzibar. Said el-Gheithy, its curator, said: "She was a pioneer in terms of cross-cultural commentary and was the first woman to record her observations about the way of life in Germany and Zanzibar." #NewspaperUKBrdshtTheTimesJonathanClayton https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/culture-warriors-denounce-slave-princess-pjkm0prvs #ToponymEuropeGermanyHamburg #IRLHistoricalFigureSayyidaSalmeAKAEmilyRuete #PowerControlChattelSlavery #NewspaperDEBrdshtHamburgerAbendblatt http://www.hamburg-postkolonial.de/ #PhenomnColonialism / #TheorySociologyCriticalPostcolonialism #OrgClassifPPDEBundnis90DieGrunen #OrgClassifPPDESozialdemokratischeParteiDeutschlandsSPD

"Woke in its initial inception meant political consciousness for Black people about the histories of anti-Blackness in this [USA] country and globally rather than this kind of more generalised political consciousness that it came to take up. One thing that I think is a very common misunderstanding about woke is the idea that it was derived from this phrase 'stay woke'. Woke itself is a standalone word. It's a word that conforms to the syntactic and phonological, which is to say that the sound system and grammatical principles, of African American English which has its origins in the South. 'Awake' is synonymous with 'woke' right, so one might say, 'I was woke about, let's say 7am'. The idea of 'wakefulness' as a concept referring to political consciousness stretches as far back as 1923, and then we see it going all the way up through the 1980s. Marcus Garvey in 'The Philosophy and Opinions of Marcus Garvey' in the frame of what we might think of as black nationalist tradition where he says, 'wake up Ethiopia, wake up Africa, let us work towards the one end of a glorious and redeemed and mighty nation', he's talking about political consciousness in the same way as Laurence Fishburne's character at the end of 'School Daze' in the 1980s film. In 1962, a New York Times article by a guy named [William] Melvin Kelley 'If You're Woke You Dig It' writing about cultural appropriation and linguistic appropriation of Black language and culture by white people, specifically. As early as the 1990s or the late 1980s, you see it more attached to the idea of 'political correctness'. This is the point of which white people I would suggest, begin using it reflexively. And so it doesn't now just have the meaning of thinking about anti-Blackness from the perspective of someone who experiences it. More now it refers to this more general sense of awareness, as a marker of general political consciousness attention to such issues as those environmental, feminists, regarding ability and so on. Childish Gambino's song 'Redbone', canonised the phrase 'stay woke' for a popular audience. While Childish Gambino might understand that 'wokeness', at least in its original inception, has a lot to do with our awareness of anti-Black oppression. Listeners to the song from a variety of demographics all over the world aren't abreast of that history and now are using it, the phrase, in a way that destroys its meaning. But it has also been taken up more recently by conservatives. And it became used in a negative or pejorative fashion, right or at least one that is mocking or sarcastic. In fact, it's a well-known and popular tactic of conservatives to pick up and shift the meanings of individual terms, to then weaponize them. Mark Milley and Matt Gaetz arguing about what's woke and what isn't, whether it's good or whether it's bad, where that has nothing to do with the case of the Scottsboro Boys or Emmett Till or Trayvon Martin or Sandra Bland or Rodney King or Ahmaud Arbery or Breonna Taylor or George Floyd. I'm not suggesting that it's necessarily a conscious process, but it's the result of the kind of consumption of Black culture, which has always had a lot of capital purchase in the United States and pop culture globally." The idea behind it was common within Black communities at that point -- the notion that staying 'woke' and alert to the deceptions of other people was a basic survival tactic. But in 2014, following the police killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, 'stay woke' suddenly became the cautionary watchword of Black Lives Matter activists on the streets, used in a chilling and specific context : keeping watch for police brutality and unjust police tactics." For a conflict theorist, culture is seen as reinforcing issues of 'privilege' for certain groups based upon race, sex, class, and so on. Women strive for equality in a male-dominated society. Senior citizens struggle to protect their rights, their health care, and their independence from a younger generation of lawmakers. ...
Conflict theorists believe that a society's system of material production has an effect on the rest of culture. People who have less power also have less ability to adapt to cultural change.
