The 'worst-case' scenario with low COVID-19 incidence reflecting the July 2021 nadir and the same somewhat diminished vaccine effectiveness as in the 'most likely' scenario.
For males and females 18 years of age and older and for females 16-17 years of age, even before accounting for morbidity prevented from non-hospitalized COVID-19, the model predicts that the benefits of prevented COVID-19 hospitalizations, ICU admissions and deaths would clearly outweigh the predicted excess risk of vaccine-associated myocarditis/pericarditis under all conditions examined. For males 16-17 years of age, the model predicts that the benefits of prevented COVID-19 hospitalizations, ICU admissions and deaths would clearly outweigh the predicted excess risk of vaccine-associated myocarditis/pericarditis under the 'most likely' scenario, but that predicted excess cases of vaccine-associated myocarditis/pericarditis would exceed COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths under the 'worst case' scenario. However, this predicted numerical imbalance does not account for the greater severity and length of hospitalization, on average, for COVID-19 compared with vaccine-associated myocarditis/pericarditis. Additionally, the 'worst case' scenario model predicts prevention of >13,000 cases of non-hospitalized COVID-19 per million vaccinated males 16-17 years of age, which would include prevention of clinically significant morbidity and/or long-term sequelae associated with some of these cases. His intervention came after several companies withdrew advertising from GB News in its first week on air in the face of a 'stop funding hate' campaign.
Mr Dowden said: 'When he launched the channel, veteran broadcaster Andrew Neil vowed that GB News would not be 'an echo chamber for the metropolitan mindset', and that it would 'empower those who feel their concerns have been unheard'.
'Rightly so. A free media is one that has a diverse range of opinions and voices.'
Mr Dowden identified the protection of journalism and political opinions as 'the grounds of a functioning democracy', adding: 'Sadly, we can no longer take them for granted.
'Across the West, our values of tolerance and freedom of expression, for which previous generations have fought and died, increasingly risk being undermined by a small but vocal minority. For them, these are not absolute, but relative, concepts, ready to be bent to silence dissent from their world view.'

This rhetoric encourages us to separate this current crisis from the context out of which it has arisen. Seventy-five years of displacement, fifty-six years of occupation, and sixteen years of the Gaza blockade have generated an ever-deteriorating spiral of violence that can only be arrested by a political solution. There is no military solution in Israel-Palestine, and deploying a Holocaust narrative in which an 'evil' must be vanquished by force will only perpetuate an oppressive state of affairs that has already lasted far too long.
Insisting that 'Hamas are the new Nazis'--while holding Palestinians collectively responsible for Hamas's actions--attributes hardened, antisemitic motivations to those who defend Palestinian rights. It also positions the protection of Jewish people against the upholding of international human rights and laws, implying that the current assault on Gaza is a necessity. The setup and layout of the headline sets out to demonise the 'foreigners', the sentence is graphically emphasized through employment of capitals to increase tension and build drama. The techniques employed are 'involved in the enactment, expression or inculcation of negative beliefs about immigrants and minorities, and thus contribute to racism.' (van Dijk, 2000: 41). This form of discourse continues throughout: 'A string of horrendous attacks carried out by Eastern European criminals in recent months has raised concerns over the lack of checks on new arrivals.' The word 'horrendous' is used here to emphasise the feelings of terror and shock. The article finishes with a statistic, 'More than 11,000 foreign national offenders are behind bars in England and Wales.' This statistic is obviously going to have a shocking effect on readers, yet they haven't elaborated on what type of crimes they are imprisoned for, which obviously makes a difference. Writing the article in this way indicates hatred towards the foreigners, with almost xenophobic attitudes. "It has been over 33 years since hundreds if not thousands of unarmed peaceful pro-democracy protesters were killed in Beijing and the arrest of tens of thousands of demonstrators in cities across China.
The protesters, based in Tiananmen Square in central Beijing, were peacefully calling for political and economic reform. In response, the Chinese authorities responded with overwhelming force to repress the demonstrations.
Military units were brought in and unarmed protesters and onlookers were killed en masse. The Chinese government has never acknowledged the true events surrounding the Tiananmen massacre. It remains a contentious topic in China, with authorities banning all mention of the protest even today.

Addendum conservative paranoia / anxiety manifest in attack of education - metaphorically creating the paradox that knowledge is the enemy of knowledge. It seeks to assert an idealogical position, invested in the idea a "belief" rather than logic (logical-analytical) based approach to understanding e.g. "I believe it so it's true" (leading to a logical paradox, where it is impossible to refute claims because of the failure to recognise logical argument).
