Context "The Special Interest Communities (SIC) program offers two distinctive residential experiences to those interested in living among students with common identities or interests. Our Special Interest Communities create opportunities to impact the larger Columbia community through the implementation of educational programs, events and workshops in addition to fostering a connection to faculty, staff and alumni. Our Themed Communities provide students with an opportunity to cultivate community-building around a shared personal or academic interest. Both Special Interest Communities and Themed Communities offer students a unique experience as all members are encouraged to discover themselves while developing a shared community that comes together around similarities and differences alike. Special Interest Communities and Themed Communities are available to all students interested." https://www.cc-seas.columbia.edu/reslife/sic #EDUUSColumbiaUniversitySpecialInterestCommunitiesSIC
Addendum presumably this is an effort to discredit #MetaphorWarfareCultureLiberalEducation. Horowitz fallaciously manipulates the meaning, which is intended by his interview subjects to support his #PhenomnPolemic. He does this through a number of means, including: 1). he fails to properly contextualise his interview questions for his subjects (causing them to make assumptions about its intended meaning); 2). he creates an artificial distinction between groups of interview subjects according to particular characterisations (that of the 'naive and overly #PoliticallyCorrectPC student' versus the 'every-person'). Symbolically, this locates the perspective of the 'every-person' as #PleaAuthenticity.ic and the PC student as #TauntHypocrisyLiberal; 3). different lines of questioning are reserved for black and white interview subjects (symbolically identifying their positions as distinct and different - and that they are therefore adversarial); 4). a question is asked about the equitability of 'separate but equal' university facilities/provisions, which is intentionally misleading in that it confuses a common-sense interpretation (which logically emphasises equality) with #PowerControlSegregationJimCrowLaws [Wikipedia] era #SloganSeparateButEqual rhetoric, which was used as constitutional cover against possible criticism so as to maintain racial segregation (and which was overturned by the #1954_USBrownVersusBoardOfEducation ruling).

@TanyaPreneta [name pseudonymized] [ontology] [05]: @NoahCRothman @benshapiro This new Leftist doctrine of racial segregation and descrimination based on color, gender and sexuality is morally wrong... #woke is dangerous to the progress we've made since Jim Crow, and a threat to us as a family. Stop trying to segregate us 😡 [URL redacted]
plea by #IRLShockJockAlexJonesInfoWars site personality #WebsiteInfoWarsOwenShroyer to maintain the status quo / reject initiatives to readdress racial imbalances through attempting to characterise such initiatives as a form of racial segregation and discrimination. #TauntLeftist #BrandTheDailyWirePolemicistBenShapiro #OtheringDiscriminationRacism #PowerControlSegregationJimCrowLaws [Wikipedia] Note that 'Crow' is a fictional character used symbolically: https://www.history.com/news/was-jim-crow-a-real-person
Context "Jim Crow was the name given to the system of racial segregation in the US - predominantly in the South but holding influence all over the country - from the period immediately after the American Civil War (the end of the Reconstruction era) to the civil rights movement of the 1960s. With 'separate but equal' as the guiding doctrine, state and local laws restricted black rights. Black people were denied the vote; educational, economic and vocational opportunities; and basic human dignities. Yet Jim Crow was more than that: it was an all-pervasive way of life to keep African-American people as second-class citizens by sanctioning and normalising their oppression in a post-slavery world, and enforcing that with the constant threat of the law, intimidation, violence and death." https://www.historyextra.com/period/20th-century/jim-crow-who-laws-what-usa-when-end/ #SloganSeparateButEqual
