@DonUhlenbrock [name pseudonymized] [ontology] : @realDonaldJNews His son is going to be even worse. Which at this point I’m surprised #Soros hasn’t already had his conscious uploaded to the cloud! Ironically those doing his bidding think they will be in the elitist club when it comes crashing down!? His #woke agenda makes pawns of his minions. [URL redacted]

Supplementary "It is for this reason that Soros's failures are so telling; they are the failures not merely of one man, but of an entire class - and an entire way of understanding the world. From his earliest days as a banker in postwar London, Soros believed in a necessary connection between capitalism and cosmopolitanism. For him, as for most of the members of his cohort and the majority of the Democratic party's leadership, a free society depends on free (albeit regulated) markets. But this assumed connection has proven to be a false one. The decades since the end of the cold war have demonstrated that, without a perceived existential enemy, capitalism tends to undermine the very culture of trust, compassion and empathy upon which Soros's 'open society' depends, by concentrating wealth in the hands of the very few. Instead of the global capitalist utopia predicted in the halcyon 1990s by those who proclaimed an end to history, the US is presently ruled by an oafish heir who enriches his family as he dismantles the 'liberal international order' that was supposed to govern a peaceful, prosperous and united world. While Soros recognised earlier than most the limits of hypercapitalism, his class position made him unable to advocate the root-and-branch reforms necessary to bring about the world he desires. The system that allows George Soros to accrue the wealth that he has done has proven to be one in which cosmopolitanism will never find a stable home." https://www.theguardian.com/news/2018/jul/06/the-george-soros-philosophy-and-its-fatal-flaw #IRLScientistPoliticalYoshihiroFrancisFukuyama #IRLPhilosopherKarlPopper #TheoryGlobalisationCosmopolitanism

Supplementary #MagazineAUQuilletteMattMcManus "conservatives decry postmodernism for undermining belief in traditional epistemological and moral standards. These criticisms are not especially powerful, since they are largely predicated on a nostalgic desire to hold onto those specific standards regardless of their tenability... Postmodern conservatives increasingly regard strong truth claims about knowledge and morality with active suspicion and even hostility. This is because they regard the intellectual and cultural 'elites' who produce knowledge and popularize moral norms as progressive, abstract, and unlikely to sympathize with their concerns. Rather than attempting to formulate alternative claims about knowledge and morality which might have some epistemic and meta-ethical tenability, postmodern conservatives reject even these standards. Instead, they largely appeal to identity as the locus for epistemic and moral validity. This is, in turn, used to rally political support for a given agenda designed to restore that identity to power." https://quillette.com/2018/05/17/emergence-rise-postmodern-conservatism/ #TheoryPostmodernConservatism #OtheringElitesLiberalCulturalEducated

Addendum postmodernism's focus on contingency leads you towards infinite variation i.e. the a priori of the uniquely differentiated individual (where identity is the only commonality). Paradoxically, this is in contradiction with a social-conservative position, which is simultaneously centred around the a priori individualism and the a priori of shared values albeit ones, which are fixed and necessarily unchallengeable (because of their supposed absolute certainty/truth) e.g. 'family values', 'Christian belief' etc. The problem then for social-conservatives is not postmodernism's centring on the individual but in its attacks of what is understood to be sacred/sacrosanct - in short, *tradition*. #TheoryPostmodernContingency #TheoryIndividualismSelfActualisation #PoliticsConservatismTraditionalist #PleaAWorldOfSimpleStableFixedOperations #NarrativeValuesFamily And: #EDUCAMcGillUniversityInternationalReviewMIR https://www.mironline.ca/what-is-post-modern-conservatism/ And? http://politicalcritique.org/world/2018/post-modern-conservatism-or-how-the-right-became-what-it-hated/

Context this image is a #CharacterisationDerivativeWorkCoOption. The original, full-frame illustration shows a #MetaphorVersusSideBySideDiptych comparison of a mother and her daughter. This version has been cropped significantly. The illustration was created by #CaricaturistLaineyMolnar [forum] Unlike this cropped version, the original presents a positive interpretation, where "Me at age 31" represents a contemporary, #NarrativeValuesCosmopolitan and #PoliticsLiberalismLiberalWorldview as contrasted with the depiction of a #PhenomnRoleMarriageHousewife and #PhenomnRoleFamilyMother as per "My mom at age 31" reference. Addendum #IRLSociologistAndreasReckwitz "instead of constructing an antagonistic clash between various cultures (and their cultural patterns), I would like to argue that in late modernity we witness a much more antagonism between what I call, 'regimens of culturalisation': not cultures facing off against each other but, more fundamentally two contrary conceptions of what culture means, and therefore two contrary formers, which the cultural sphere is organised. In late modernity a wide-ranging, culturalisation of 'the social' is taking place, however it has two forms, that are very different from each other: Culturalisation1 as I would like to call it, can be observed as a culturalisation of forms of life and sort of global cultural market: here cultural good compete for the subjects who are striving for individual self-realisation. This is what I would call #TheoryHyperculture. Culturalisation2 is a different regimen. This culturalisation aims at collectives, and sets them up as communities sharing an identity and a set of morals. It employs, a strict inside/outside dualism, and follows the model of homogeneous communities created as 'imagined communities': this constellation I would call #TheoryCulturalEssentialism. #TheoryModernityLate (and #TheoryModernityLiquid as defined by #IRLSociologistZygmuntBauman) is marked by conflict between these two regimens of culturalisation, which has led to a contradictory constellation of opening and closure." (transcript of video extract running from 4:03 to 5:36). https://www.mmg.mpg.de/342842/online-lecture-2019-02-27-reckwitz See pages 14-15 in Reckwitz, A. and V. A. Pakis (2021). 'The End of Illusions: Politics, Economy, and Culture in Late Modernity'. Cambridge, UK, Polity Press Cambridge, UK. [Worldcat] In some senses, this conceptualisation of 'hyperculture' and 'cultural essentialism' feels reminiscent of #IRLSociologistFerdinandTonnies' #TheorySociologySocialRelationshipsGesellschaft (individual oriented, business and commerce dominate) and #TheorySociologySocialRelationshipsGemeinschaft (group oriented, tradition dominates) [Folksonomy] Also #IRLHistoricalFigureEmileDurkheim Given this, Tonnies' theory was directed towards understanding the transformation from the pre-urban to the urban, not late modernity as per Reckwitz theorisation. Interestingly, the conceptualisation provides some explanation for antagonism towards #TheoryGlobalisation, exemplified by the #OtheringElitesGlobal caricaturisation as proffered by #PoliticsConservatismSocialSoCon.s Reckwitz's point about: "subjects who are striving for individual self-realisation", might tie into #IRLPhilosopherLouisAlthusser's #TheoryInterpellation (this needs to be explored further). Additionally, #IRLScholarTimothySnyder's #TheoryPoliticsOfInevitability https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eghl19elKk8&t=87s feels reminiscent of (at least how Reckwitz explains it), Fukuyama's #1992_TheEndOfHistoryAndTheLastMan theory.
