At their core, hauntologies symbolise the absence of strategy - an absence made clear by the markets when they exercised one of the biggest displays of raw class power in recent history. Neoliberal gatekeepers, such as Andrew Bailey and the Bank of England, showed in practice the difference between pure neoliberalism as an unmoored ideology and the financial power of a neoliberal system whose interest in the stability and maintenance of its legal, economic and political dominance trumps all." https://novaramedia.com/2022/10/26/the-tory-crisis-didnt-start-with-liz-truss-and-it-wont-end-with-her/ #OrgClassifPPUKConservativePartyLizTruss #PoliticsCapitalismNeoliberalism #BrandUKBankOfEnglandAndrewBailey #OrgClassifPPUKConservativePartyMargaretThatcher #TheoryHauntology (Derrida, Jacques, 1993, p.10). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJbuzQvQSwk&t=287s #IRLPhilosopherJacquesDerrida and his #1993_SpectresDeMarx: [pdf] #TheoryPoliticsOfInevitability ?

Supplementary #AdvocacyEUSocialEuropeJustusSeuferle "Two competing ideas about the worker dominate contemporary discourse. The first--predominantly found in the United States--is cultural; the second, once prevalent in Europe, is material. The cultural definition, often reflected in self-identification surveys, hinges on the colour of one's collar. It distinguishes between blue-collar and white-collar workers--those who work with their hands versus those in bureaucratic or intellectual roles. Under this framework, even a small business owner can be considered a worker. The only criterion is a sense of cultural belonging tied to one's type of work. This vague and malleable definition leads to absurd outcomes: a brash, orange-hued billionaire with a neoliberal agenda can be hailed as the champion of the working class. In contrast, the European tradition has historically adhered to a materialist, Marxist perspective. A worker, in this view, is someone who owns nothing but their labour power and is therefore compelled into what Marx termed 'relations of production' with those who control the means of production. Marx described the worker as doubly free--free from external coercion to labour, yet also free from ownership of the resources necessary for survival. This condition creates structural dependency and limits individual freedom. By this definition, liberal democracy has yet to fulfil its promise of liberty for the working class. This framework does not rely on cultural identity or habits but on economic position. It sees the term 'worker' as a measure of dependence." https://www.socialeurope.eu/how-the-right-hijacked-the-working-class-for-culture-wars #ReasoningFallacyAppealToTraditionEverydayPeopleEveryman #TheoryMarxism #CatchcryIdentityPolitics #OrgClassifPPUSRepublicanPartyGOPPOTUSDonaldTrump #TauntOrangeManBad #IdentityClassBlueCollar #IdentityClassWhiteCollarMiddle #PoliticsCapitalismNeoliberalism #IRLSociologistPierreBourdieu

But the, the problem is that this the circle strategy with green industrial revolution is to move away from cheap uh affordable and reliable energy to extremely costly and unreliable energy and to do so at an inordinate cost. All the experts for example professor Michael Kelly - and everybody else who knows about this story. And I know a little bit about energy, because before I became chancellor, I was secretary of state for energy. So, it's not a new field - but the the cost of moving from cheap and reliable energy, to very expensive and unreliable energy, is massive - and it's crazy. And I really worry - I've never worried so much, about the future - but of the British economy - and therefore of this country uh more than I do now." #PhenomnClimateChangeAnthropogenic #TheoryDragonsOfInactionPerceivedRiskFinancial #LiteralFieldEconomicsMacroSupplySide [Wikipedia] #EDUUKUniversityOfCambridgeMichaelKelly [DeSmog] [DeSmog] #AdvocacyUKGlobalWarmingPolicyForumGWPF #EDUUKLondonSchoolOfEconomicsAndPoliticalScienceLSEBobWard "During his interview on the 'Today' programme, Professor Kelly expressed his dislike of renewable energy, but also raged against climate scientists' projections of global warming: 'It's no good looking at a model today and saying it's done well for the last 30 years. If you look at a model made 30 years ago and look how well it's done in the 30 years since, if you look at the data for the last 30 years, on average the models have been heating twice as fast as the data.' This claim was, of course, entirely false. A study by Zeke Hausfather and co-authors on 'Evaluating the performance of past climate model projections', which was published in December 2019 in the journal 'Geophysical Research Letters', concluded: 'We find that climate models published over the past five decades were generally quite accurate in predicting global warming in the years after publication, particularly when accounting for differences between modeled and actual changes in atmospheric CO2 and other climate drivers'." https://www.lse.ac.uk/granthaminstitute/news/climate-change-sceptics-abuse-freedom-of-expression/ #NMUKBBCToday_ #PhenomnEnergyRenewableGreenEnergy #IRLClimatologistZekeHausfather #JournalGeophysicalResearchLetters #LiteralSubstanceGasCO2
