@LeviHarrigill [name pseudonymized] [ontology] [10]: The convergence of @TheTimed, @FT, @BBCNews and @itvnews with @C4News & @Guardian is a danger to democracy. The #woke hysteria and #Boris bashing? Bashers accept neither the result of the 2016 #referendum, nor that of the #Election2016. Here’s @iankatz1000 of #C4 — “born risky” [URL redacted]

Supplementary "Yet conservative elitism has a problem: it assumes the existence of conservative elites. As the mainstream media, the bureaucracies, the universities, and even big business move leftward on a host of issues, this assumption is increasingly problematic. Conservative deference to contemporary elites can only lead to more conservative defeats. Conservative success often requires circumventing ordinary representative democracy, winning political victories via initiative and referendum processes at the state level." https://lawliberty.org/book-review/the-promise-of-populism/ #EDUUSArizonaStateUniversityDonaldCritchlow #MetaphorDeceitLugenpresseMainstreamMediaMSM #OtheringElitesConservative #MetaphorWarfareCultureLiberalEducation #TheoryPerformativeCorporateAllyship #PoliticsDemocracy #PoliticsReferenda #PhenomnPopulism

@LeviHarrigill [name pseudonymized] [ontology] [10]: For me, "#VirtueSignalling" won't cut it. Nor will "#Woke". Lazy, preaching to the choir. Rather, this stuff is the new way in which the #RulingClass rules - in #geopolitics, too. Can't wait for Boris to wow the world at next November's UN Climate Change Conference, Glasgow! @LeviHarrigill [name pseudonymized] [ontology] [10]: The #Torygraph? Always behind @spikedonline in the counterattack on #woke, still fighting the #SovietUnion. But beats the clickbait @TheTimes, LibDem @Guardian and smug @FT. Moore's satire marred by his support for #RoryStewart - Britain's wokest also-ran! @NationalTrust [URL redacted]
#NewspaperUKBrdshtTheTelegraphCharlesMoore "A prominent outsider candidate has come forward at the last minute. Rory Stewart, the writer, traveller, and former government minister, is a dark horse and a lone wolf - if one can be two animals at once - so I cannot place him in any faction. But his commitment to our country's built heritage and land stewardship (the Trust owns 600,000 acres) is real. I have direct experience of his conservation skills because I visited him in Afghanistan. There, against every possible disadvantage of war, filth and poverty, he had cleared the rubbish which had buried the old city of Kabul, restoring eight acres of old buildings, streets and courtyards and filling them, via his Turquoise Mountain charity, with revived Afghan crafts and workshops. It was about the only Western initiative in that country which succeeded. Rory seemed to love conservation and to know how it can enhance modern life. I fear it is the lack of love for the NT's historic collections, buildings and gardens which is most disheartening about the current leadership. The members feel that love, though, and will respond warmly to leaders who share it. Restoration and reconciliation can be accomplished, but only with urgent change." https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/10/15/wanted-national-trust-leader-can-trusted-love-heritage/

Supplementary "What, if anything, justifies the authority of the state? What are the proper limits of state power? Under what circumstances, if any, is it morally right to overthrow a state? Within Western political philosophy, one of the most influential approaches to such questions asserts that the state exists by, and its powers are generally defined or circumscribed by, the rational agreement of its citizens, as represented in an actual or a hypothetical social contract among themselves or between themselves and a ruler. The classic social-contract theorists of the 17th and 18th centuries--Thomas Hobbes (1588-1679), John Locke (1632-1704), and Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712-78)--held that the social contract is the means by which civilized society, including government, arises from a historically or logically preexisting condition of stateless anarchy, or a 'state of nature.' Because the state of nature is in certain respects unhappy or unsatisfactory or undesirable, or because increasingly complex social relations eventually require it, each person agrees to surrender some (or all) of his or her originally expansive rights and freedoms to a central authority on the condition that every other person does the same. In exchange, each person receives the benefits that supposedly only such a central authority can provide, notably including domestic peace." [encyclopædia] #TheoryTheSocialContract
