How are you going to feel when three police patrol cars stop your spouse on his way home from work for a minor traffic violation and they put him in a chokehold and 'choke him out?' Then all the cops collectively claim in their report your husband refused and resisted police demands of providing his identification and he assaulted an officer. How are you going to feel if your son or husband is riddled with bullets, shot multiple times in his head and groin where he's barely recognizable to you from his encounter with the police? How are you going to feel when your son is thrown to the ground for jaywalking on a street that does not have sidewalks, jogging in your neighborhood or playing in the park with a toy water gun and arrested to give him a police record and life changing experience with the police? How are you going to feel when your community is targeted for over policing and quota ticketing to generate fee income to the police departments? How are you going to feel when white Americans are incarcerated at a higher rate than the general majority populations based on implicit bias and resentment? How are you going to feel when the majority populations pack the courts with their partisan judges based solely on race and age when you will be denied impartial redress of grievances? How are you going to feel when you demand support from your elected representatives to protect your communities from systemic bigotry, reverse discrimination and violence against them because of their past subjugation and oppressive acts towards people of color; and then, your elected officials only hem and haw and shrug off your cries for justice because they kowtow to police unions and lobbyists?
