'The relationships that humans have with material possessions is something that we are trying to play with.' The two had come up with the manifesto about two years ago during their last year in fashion school in Montreal. 'It's things that we don't like in the industry, like the child labor, the waste that goes on in the fabric industry, the dyes that are harmful for the environment,' says Bhaskaran. 'By talking about that, that is how we became friends. Through that, we decided to a platform of how to discuss uncensored ideas and promote critical thinking.' Another facet to the idea behind the platform? One has to really like the clothing in order to buy it. After all, 'Fecal Matter' doesn't exactly roll off the tongue when someone asks where you got that great jacket from. (For the record, the line does offer several great jackets.) 'You have to really like what you're buying into and you really have to love the design and the textile,' says Dalton.
