@KahealaniCucullu [name pseudonymized] [ontology] [17]: Combating WOKE MYTHS - Episode#1: 'White Privilege.' Tips en technieken voor wanneer je in gesprek bent met een woke-fanaat. #IRLFilmmakerTravisBrown: "Combating woke myths 'you can't understand 'X' because of your white privilege'" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9wDHbizYIc #2021_TheWokeReformation #PhenomnWhitePrivilege #NarrativeTruthHypothetical
Context "When someone tells you that you can't understand something because you have white privilege or any other kind of privilege, what they're saying is that they think you should not comment on a social phenomenon because of your group identity. The first thing to do is to repeat their statement to ensure you understood it correctly. Then you can ask something like, I'm really curious how you know that all white people have privilege, isn't privilege something that would be context dependent? If they say no and that all white people have privilege, then you can ask, would a poor white child with severe social anxiety who goes to a mostly black school really have white privilege? Or what about those white farmers who were driven off their lands in Zimbabwe in the early 2000s, did they have white privilege? Listen to their reply and follow up with, let's say I agreed that all white people have some kind of privilege, I still don't know why that would prevent them from understanding and empathising with people who aren't white shouldn't we treat everyone as unique individuals and avoid judging them based on their skin colour. If they're not willing to consider your questions and repeat themselves or resort to personal attacks you can simply say you don't accept their assertions as true and move on." #ReasoningFallacyFalseEquivalence #ReasoningFallacyWhataboutism #PhenomnSkinColour And: https://www.dw.com/en/zimbabwe-compensates-white-farmers-with-billions/a-54395238 #ToponymAfricaSoutheastZimbabwe #IRLHistoricalFigureRobertMugabe

Addendum the mention that 'Rhodesia' is a "transglobal nation which never abolished any of the good old morality laws" is meant as an #LiteralMeaningInsinuation, which #LiteralMeaningConnotation.nnotes a type of #PleaNostalgiaRetrospection for a #NarrativeUtopiaHomeland - what #IRLScholarSvetlanaBoym describes as a #PleaNostalgiaRestorative where #TheoryDeclinism.ist impulses are able to imagine a #NarrativeStableMorality of #TheoryRetrospectiveIdentities

Context "Nostalgia for Rhodesia has since grown into a subtle and profitable form of racist messaging, with its own line of terminology, hashtags and merchandise, peddled to military-history fans and firearms enthusiasts by a stew of far-right provocateurs. ... But outside observers of this Rhodesia revival cite a far more disturbing inspiration for it: Dylann Roof, the American white supremacist who killed nine black parishioners in a Charleston, S.C. church in June 2015. Roof, who was sentenced to death last year, had penned an online manifesto, which appeared on a website called The Last Rhodesian, with photographs of himself wearing a jacket with a patch of the green-and-white Rhodesian flag." https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/10/magazine/rhodesia-zimbabwe-white-supremacists.html #IRLWhiteSupremacistDylannRoof #ToponymAfricaSouthernSouthAfrica #IRLHistoricalFigureCecilRhodes #SlurWhiteSupremacy #PoliticsNationalismWhite #MassShooting2015CharlestonChurch
Supplementary #NMUSTheCenterForInvestigativeReportingCIR [Wikipedia] "Roof, like many white nationalists, identified with a long-lived trope: that white South Africans -- especially farmers -- are being slaughtered. And that Rhodesia and South Africa were simply better places under their racist colonial caste systems." #NewspaperUKBrdshtTheGuardianHenryDyer and #NewspaperUKBrdshtTheGuardianMichaelGoodier "In another video [mp4] appearing to reference a far-right trope, the Reform leader concluded a £78 video: 'I've got to end this by saying 'up the Rhodesia'. Now whether this is the old country or a pub, I don't know, but that's the message.' There are no pubs in England called the Rhodesia. Rhodesia, a white minority-rule state that is now Zimbabwe, has become a common reference point for white nationalists. Dr Robert Topinka, a lecturer in digital media and rhetoric at Birkbeck, University of London, said: 'Rhodesia is a key far-right and white nationalist reference point and has been since the 60s. Rhodesia is shorthand for a beleaguered white minority fighting heroically in a doomed battle to preserve an ethnostate.'" https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/ng-interactive/2026/mar/17/nigel-farage-videos-support-rioter-neonazi-event-far-right-slogans#up-the-rhodesia-and-other-far-right-tropes #OrgClassifPPUKTheBrexitPartyReformUKNigelFarage #PoliticsNationalismEthno

Supplementary #ReasoningFallacyBiasSurvivorship [Wikipedia] "Survivorship bias occurs when a social or political process causes many units to drop out of the sample, while those which survive and enter the sample exhibit peculiar features, consistent with their survival, that makes them non-representative of the larger population. Left uncorrected, survivorship bias can lead to biased conclusions. Therefore, standard practice is faulty. Standard practice is to estimate a conditional probability function, such as the probability of autocratic survival conditional on access to resource rents, on all units in a cross-sectional and longitudinal data set that spans the globe. Using all of the relevant data would seem to assure most scholars that they are not inducing bias through selecting a biased set of cases; but with survivorship bias, the bias is built directly into the data set."
