@FranciscoDouangdara [name pseudonymized] [ontology] : Many of these things have been recovered. Some are on display here in New York at the Met. Sorry, @Graham__Hancock if this is too #Woke for you. But it's not "Big Archaeology's" (eye-roll) fault that you didn't do your homework. [URL redacted]

Supplementary #NewspaperUKBrdshtTheGuardianStuartHeritage "At the time of writing, Ancient Apocalypse has been comfortably sitting in Netflix's Top 10 list for several days. This presents something of a mystery, because the show closely resembles the sort of half-baked filler documentary that one of the lesser Discovery channels would slap up at 3am between shows about plane crashes and fascist architecture. Ancient Apocalypse obviously has an audience, but who on Earth is it? Fortunately, you don't have to watch for long to find out. In quick succession, during the pre-show sizzle reel, we are treated to a clip of the show's host Graham Hancock being interviewed by Joe Rogan. Finally, we have an answer: Ancient Apocalypse must be a TV programme made exclusively for people who like to shout at you on Twitter." https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2022/nov/23/ancient-apocalypse-is-the-most-dangerous-show-on-netflix #BeliefPseudosciencePseudoarchaeology [commentary] #BeliefMysticismMagicalThinking [Wikipedia] #BrandATTWarnerMediaDiscovery #2022_AncientApocalypse #BrandTechNetflix #VlogJoeRoganExperienceJRE #PhenomnCulturalFormGenreDocumentaryFiller
#OrgUKTheGlobalNetworkOnExtremismAndTechnologyGNETHarrisonPates "In November 2022, Netflix released their controversial documentary-style series entitled Ancient Apocalypse. It featured the musings of Graham Hancock, a speculative historian, and his attempts to prove the existence of an Atlantean society which he claims kickstarted the development of ice-age civilisation before it was destroyed in a mysterious cataclysm." https://gnet-research.org/2023/02/15/the-dangers-of-pseudohistorical-conspiracy-theories/ #EDUUKUniversityKingsCollegeLondonKCLCentreForStatecraftAndNationalSecurityCSNS

@EastonHaws [name pseudonymized] [ontology] [02]: @DouglasKMurray @MikeSwadling @StopFundingHate @unherd @AllisterHeath @Telegraph Big business has made a fatal error by declaring war on Tory voters The boycott of @GBNews is a turning point: firms must end #woke campaigning or face a ferocious backlash [URL redacted]
#TheoryInstrumentalism argument where the overt acts of those behind GBNews (namely #NMUKGBNewsAndrewNeil's declaration of a 'war on woke', which is commonly understood to be justification for attacking liberal and progressive values) are seen as inconsequential to their future efforts and that efforts to stall the spread are condemned as being #PoliticsFascism. The argument against the supposed #TauntVirtueSignalling of so-called #TauntLefties is a #MetaphorOutsiderUnderdogDavidAndGoliath one i.e. seeking to imbue GBNews with allusions related to newborn innocence and frailty against the unjust challenge of StopFundingHate activism.
Context "GB News has secured £60m in funding in order to make it to the airwaves. Of this, £20m came from the American media company Discovery (the people behind such channels as Discovery Channel, Science Channel, TLC, Food Network and Animal Planet). The remaining money came from two other sources; British hedge fund manager Paul Marshall, and Legatum, a private investment firm which is based in Dubai." https://metro.co.uk/2021/06/16/gb-news-who-is-funding-the-channel-and-how-does-it-make-money-14782333/ #BrandATTWarnerMediaDiscovery #IRLBusinesspersonPaulMarshall #AdvocacyAELegatumInstitute
Supplementary "GB News backer and hedge fund tycoon Sir Paul Marshall is set to be announced as the new owner of the 'bible' of the Conservative Party, The Spectator magazine, within the next week according to Politico. Marshall, who also founded the online magazine UnHerd and is a major investor in GB News, has been in exclusive talks to acquire the publication for about a month, Politico reported on Tuesday (3rd September)." https://bylinetimes.com/2024/09/03/the-bored-millionaire-buying-up-britains-right-wing-media-paul-marshall-set-to-buy-the-spectator/ #2024_ #MagazineAUTheSpectator #OrgClassifPPUKConservativeParty #WebsitePolitico #AdvocacyAELegatumInstituteChristopherChandler [Wikipedia]
