Addendum this music video: #2024_TomMacDonaldMeVsYou https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=najeyO0CuXw reminds me of the same sort of argument, centring the belief that political difference (in this case between #OrgClassifPPUSDemocraticParty.s and #OrgClassifPPUSRepublicanPartyGOP.s) is opposite but equal - cancelling each other out i.e. a #ReasoningFallacyZeroSumThinking. [Wikipedia] The point that 'politicians are all the same' also feels very #BehaviourDefeatism.ist (saying something about the lack of #PhenomnAgencyEmpowerment that is presumably, felt by those who are making the statement). The obvious question to ask is about who benefits from this position i.e. who's interests does disengaging from politics serve? I'm thinking here of #OrgClassifPPUSRepublicanPartyGOPPOTUSDonaldTrump's misjudgement where be infamously told the #OrgSyndicateMilitiaUSProudBoys to #PleaStandBackAndStandBy and then followed on by condemning #CauseAntifa in relation to #PoliticsNationalismWhite violence at the #2017_UniteTheRightRally in #ToponymAmericaNorthUSVirginiaCharlottesville, where he sought to #BehaviourNormalisation.e (and therefore, #BehaviourTrivialisation.e) the violence with his statement: "you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides" [fact-checked]
