Context "Since the Second World War, the KULeuven has consisted of a French-speaking and a Dutch-speaking department. After the establishment of the language border in 1962, Flemish students find the bilingualism of the university on Flemish territory fundamentally untenable. A university must be embedded in society, and therefore the language community. In addition, there is also the practical reason that the rapidly growing university wants to expand in the area: Leuven is becoming a national issue. The demand for the transfer of the French-speaking departments to Wallonia does not only come from students. Many Dutch-speaking and French-speaking staff members openly support the split.
