Wie zegt of doet wat De Wever niet zint, valt wel op de een of andere manier te labelen als 'woke'. En dus als een vijand, zelfs van het volk.
Met de exploitatie van dit thema is De Wever geen voorloper. Ooit stapelde journaliste Mia Doornaert in haar columns in De Standaard de tirades tegen woke op. En op de locatie waar De Wever op 20 oktober zijn antiwoketournee op gang trapte, de Aula Pieter De Somer in Leuven, had rector Luc Sels al op 17 september 2021 zijn academische openingsrede aan woke gewijd.
