"Woke wars! 'Decolonising' row rocks uni A PROJECT aimed at 'decolonising' a leading university's curriculum has been plunged into disarray. The Mail has been told some Edinburgh University researchers have threatened to quit a working group over concern the principal is not offering enough support. The split is between hardliners who back rooting out all evidence of historical racism, such as slavery links, and others opposed to the radical approach. Some have written to principal Professor Peter Mathieson informing him they intend to quit the working group. Sources said Professor Tommy Curry and senior lecturer Nicola Frith are among the alleged hardliners who are angry that their approach is not receiving Professor Mathieson's full backing. Both were contacted for comment but passed on our inquiries to the university's press office. An insider said the row comes after 'months of rancour'. The source said some of the team had an 'evangelical and arrogant style' and one 'made no attempt to hide [their] view all white people are racist, to a greater or lesser degree'. A university spokesman said: 'We will be meeting those colleagues who have raised concerns to discuss a way forward and find a resolution.
