Context "On This Day - May 3, 1942 - In what has to be considered one of the saddest (and shameful) days in our history, Executive Order 9066, signed by Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt was issued by Lt. her John DeWitt from his headquarters in the SF Presidio. It called for the evacuation of Japanese-Americans from Los Angeles effective May 9. Some 110,000-112,000 Japanese-Americans were taken from their homes and settled in 10 relocation camps, the first of which was in Manzanar in Owens Valley, Ca. In the Bay Area most Japanese-Americans were sent to the Tanforan racetrack where they were put up in stables and later relocated to Topaz, Utah. On 1 February 1943, the all volunteer Japanese/American (Nisei - 'Go For Broke.) 442nd Regimental Combat Team was activated. The 442nd RCT would go to fight in Europe and become the most decorated unit for its size and length of service in the history of the US military-this while their families and loved ones were locked into barbwire fenced camps with military guards in desolate locations in the interior US. The unit totaling about 18,000 men, were awarded over 4,000 Purple Hearts, 4,000 Bronze Stars, 560 Silver Star Medals, 21 Medals of Honor, and seven Presidential Unit Citations. I don't enjoy posting this - but history is history, both the good and the bad. ALL must be preserved and remembered so as to ad as lessons and reminders for us to work off of now, and in the future... " [forum] (3 May 2022 at 18:12).

#NewspaperAUBrdshtTheSydneyMorningHeraldSMHCliveHamilton "it's unwise to dismiss the accidental lab leak hypothesis. Here's why. Note first that it's not a conspiracy theory; it's an accident hypothesis. And we should not mix up the claim of an accidental leak of a naturally occurring virus with the claim that the virus was constructed or manipulated in a laboratory to become more potent. Genetic analysis has disproved the latter" (Clive Hamilton, 9 May 2020). https://www.smh.com.au/national/it-would-be-unwise-to-dismiss-donald-trump-s-wuhan-lab-leak-theory-20200507-p54qyg.html
Addendum this is a response to an article in the conservative international affairs site published by the #AdvocacyUSCenterForTheNationalInterest i.e https://cftni.org/ and [blog] Significantly while the story appears to be about the potential of the Chinese military procuring single-use/disposable military drones - through intentionally evoking the symbolism of Kamikaze (suicide pilots) the author clearly seeks to incite/inflame their readers' ire. #PhenomnKamikaze

Addendum emotive parallel between the reality of 'human bombs' and the above-mentioned inflammatory characterisation of 'suicide drones', where it is not actually human life that is sacrificed (as denoted by the term 'suicide') but in fact about unmanned, autonomous drones, which are able to be set yo self-destruction - essentially, more akin to heat-seeking missiles. One wonders if the real 'parallel' here is actually a confused association/analogue between Japanese and Chinese people - as per that Western racist idea that all Asian people 'look the same'?
