You probably already know it. What's happened? Well, the oil companies and executives, they don't want to pump more oil, although they have every capacity to do so. Nothing is slowing them up from doing it if they want to. Why? Rather than spend the profits on the increased price of gasoline, they would rather take those profits and buy back stock -- buy back their own stock, rather than take that money and invest it in pumping new oil. Not a joke. Not a joke. So don't tell me gas prices rose because I've slowed down the American energy production. In my first year in office, American production grew by 9.7 million barrels a day to 11.6 million while we still made a major, major effort to deal with global warming and changing the way in which we shift to renewable -- renewable energy. And don't tell me gas prices rose because of the American Rescue Plan. The San Francisco Reserve -- Federal Reserve analyzed this and other outfits confirm: The Rescue Plan contributed to 0.3 percent of inflation -- 0.3 inflation. They're the facts. "20 December 2021 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Free Speech Union welcomes today's landmark judgement from the Court of Appeal that the recording of non-crime hate incidents is an unlawful interference with freedom of expression. As the Court says, the knowledge that such matters are being recorded and stored in a police database is likely to have had a serious 'chilling effect' on public debate. Not only does the recording of non-crime hate incidents violate Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights, as the Court said, but it is a huge waste of the police's time. Between 2014 and 2019, 34 police forces in England and Wales recorded a total of 119,134 non-crime hate incidents, an average of 65 a day. What possible justification can there be for the investigation and recording of 'non-crimes' when so many actual crimes go unsolved? Between 2015 and 2021, 964,197 domestic burglary investigations ended without a suspect being identified. 'There was an unspoken rule in the conservative movement for a long time, which they learned from Richard Nixon: you do not talk openly about race. Twenty years ago, conservative commentators would talk in code about it, in terms of 'welfare', 'inner city crime', or 'family breakdown'. But in the last five to 10 years, Cassino says, 'it has become acceptable for conservatives to talk about race in concrete terms'. The election of Obama, for example, led to arguments that talk of racial inequality was overblown, and eventually to criticisms of the president in terms of his racial identity. All of this precisely coincides with Lahren's formative political years. Like Trump and many other conservatives, Lahren puts this change down to a weariness with political correctness. 'For too long, white people have been told that they can't talk about race, and that only some people of colour can talk about race. I don't buy that.'
