"nittuwit Woke up to a lot of negativity on Kulfis Halloween post. From respectful dms to abusive messages and comments ranging from unsolicited advise on how to be cultured to ones calling me a prostitue - it has been much. And I think it has been enough. Have disabled comments on that post and will do on this post as well cos i don't need to listen to entitled abuse.
I must say this though.
I'm sorry to those whose sentiments were hurt because my intention was not to hurt anyone.
I'm however not going to be sorry for celebrating my family and creating positivity in my own little bubble. And I will not stand to listen to people telling me that poonal is induction into Vedic schools or that I should stop practicing Bharatnatyam because I didn't respect Brahmin culture. I celebrate art, not religion. I celebrate positivity, not caste. I celebrate humane values, not brahminism.
Bharatanatyam does not belong to Brahmins. Yoga is not Brahmin owned. These are some of the things that were repeatedly said and it's shocking that you don't see the fundamental problem in saying these things! Don't speak of Sanathana Dharma when you cannot respect other living beings. 100% of the messages I got came from Brahmins preaching me on how I should live my life and that makes me feel ashamed. I thought we were better than this and I'm deeply saddened that this is the reality we live in.
SHAME ON YOU.
I don't want to generalize and say that all Brahmins are this way but I'm truly sorry to the rest of the world for the ones that are.
